About
About Compute Futures Data
An independent reference for exchange futures on AI compute — contracts that settle on GPU rental-price indexes — with dated source references where recorded and explicit gaps where evidence is missing.
Purpose
Compute futures are new, and public information about them is scattered across regulator records, exchange filings, product pages and provider announcements. Dates move, terms are filed before they are approved, and announcements are easy to mistake for availability.
This site brings those records together for each contract, keeps each fact tied to its dates and to the source references recorded for it, and says plainly when something is not established or has no reference.
What you can do here
- Check where a contract stands — regulatory record, listing and launch, and trading evidence — on the contract pages and the regulatory status overview.
- Compare two contracts on the same GPU field by field in CME vs ICE.
- See which index each contract settles on, and what is unknown about it, on Benchmarks.
- Find what platform support is documented, and what it does not establish, on Market access.
- Open the evidence behind any fact to read its sources, their positions and limitations — or the note that no reference is recorded.
- Report an error or suggest a primary source through the addresses on the contact page.
Current scope
The current edition, dated Oct 6, 2026 (US Eastern time), covers 4 contracts: GPU1, GPU2, HPR, BKL. It records metadata — status, terms, settlement series and support announcements — from 20 public sources.
It does not cover perpetuals, OTC swaps, capacity forwards or announced programmes without published contract specifications. It shows no prices, settlement prices, volume or open interest, and it is not updated continuously: facts can change after their check dates.
How it is built
The recorded references point to primary documents: CFTC records and letters, exchange filings, specifications, calendars and notices, and provider announcements. A few fields, such as margin, volume and open interest, have no source reference and are shown as unknown. Facts were checked source by source with agent-assisted review. No dedicated human sign-off is recorded for this snapshot. This edition revises the Oct 5, 2026 snapshot. 15 facts were re-reviewed from saved source copies and are marked “This edition” in their evidence; all other facts keep their earlier checks. A full public change history is not yet available.
Before any page is built, the data is validated for consistency and for publication rules — for example, an unknown value can never be shown as zero, and a calendar date can never be shown as a launch. The methodology explains the states, dates and evidence labels, and the editorial policy sets out how facts and explanation are kept apart.
Independence
Compute Futures Data is not affiliated with or endorsed by CME Group, the New York Mercantile Exchange, Intercontinental Exchange, ICE Futures U.S., Silicon Data, Ornn or Trading Technologies. Naming an exchange, index administrator or platform is not a recommendation.
The site does not offer trading, accounts or referrals, and it does not rank providers. This version contains no advertising. Google Analytics runs only if you allow it, and “Analytics settings” at the bottom of each page changes that choice. Nothing here is investment advice or an offer to trade.
